Impression: This was a beer I was very interested in trying but it’s a seasonal and I haven’t managed to coincide a visit to the brewery with when it’s out. So, I was happy to find it in a bottle. I wasn’t sure what to expect and certainly I wouldn’t have guessed a Schwarzbier but that it very much is. It’s nearly black with ruby highlights and a tan rocky head. The nose is full of roast and the palate too. I would have liked a bit more hops in the mix but it’s solid at what it does.
