Schübel Kellerbock

unfiltered beer in glass with bottle
Schübel Kellerbock

Brewery: Schübel Bräu
Town:
Stadtsteinach
Style: unfiltered Heller
bock
Color: unfiltered golden

Head: white
, frothy
Nose: fruity, yeasty

Body: medium

Palate: malty, slight grain, understated but firm hops, yeasty, touch of honey

Finish: clean, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: from a bottle bought in the area

Impression: This is an interesting unfiltered Bock with some fruity elements of a Weizenbock. A touch of yeast permeates and as it warms, honey peeks out and the hops are more assertive. It’s quite dangerous at 7.2%.
