Schleicher Kaltenbrunner Bock
Brewery: Schleicher
Town: Itzgrund (Kaltenbrunn)
Style: Bock
Color: golden
Head: white, rocky, ample
Nose: malty, grainy, a touch of honey
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, grainy, some honey
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: from a bottle bought locally
Impression: I had the first bottle of this after a very nice Friedelsator and it seemed simple and a bit on the overly malty side but the second one I drank first thing and I found it much better. It’s a rich golden brew with some honey in the nose. This intermingles with a fine grainy element before its clean semi-dry finish. It’s a dangerously drinkable Bock at 6.9%.
