Hübner Staadtfelder Christkindla
Brewery: Hübner
Town: Steinfeld
Style: Festbier
Color: amber
Head: off-white, rocky
Nose: grainy, some hops, hint of tobacco
Body: medium
Palate: malty, grainy, hoppy, hint of tobacco
Finish: semi-dry, bitter
Served: from a bottle bought in the area
Impression: This was another surprising Festbier coming on the heels of their 200th Anniversary beer I’d had a few weeks earlier. This time, the amber beer was filtered but again a nice dark Festbier with good head retention. It was malty as expected but balanced out with fair hops and a touch of tobacco in the mix. The finish was pleasantly bitter and moreish at 5.5%.
