Impression: I’ve had this beer on my list since my first and sadly only visit to the Hennemann brewery. I had a reservation in Sambach this year but that was crushed by COVID-19 so was happy to find a bottle of this marvelous Bock to tide me over until (hopefully!) next year. It’s an unfiltered chestnut beauty with a gorgeous rocky tan head and aroma of rich malt and burnt toffee. It’s full-bodied and richly malty but there is ample hopping to make for a dry bitterness throughout and in the moreish finish. At 6.8%, it’s one dangerous dark Bock. This one is even higher on my list of Bocks to have on tap now.
