Impression: I went to the brewery many years ago and had a great meal but wasn’t blown away by the beer. I’ve wanted to go back as I didn’t have any notes or even photos of the beers but just haven’t made it. So, I was happy to see a few of their beers at a beer shop in Hof. I was specifically there to get Leupser Dunkel but did pick up this Dunkles which I will say surprised me. It was only 4.2% but very full-flavored and about the nicest head I’ve seen on a none-tap lager. It had a bit of chocolate in both the nose and palate but overall, it was a dryish session beer which I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again, even with my favorite Dunkles, Leupser, in the same shop. It has also convinced me to make more of an effort to return to the brewery for another meal.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
