Krug-Bräu Winterbier
Brewery: Krug-Bräu
Town: Breitenlesau
Style: dark Festbier
Color: unfiltered, deep chestnut
Head: off-white, rocky
Nose: rich malt, pumpernickel
Body: medium
Palate: malty, bready, slight roast, underlying hops
Finish: clean, semi-dry
Served: from a bottle bought in the area
Impression: I’d never seen this before and believe it’s a new beer. It seems to be an amped up (5.5%) version of their flagship Lager with a dark hue and malt forward palate. There’s some dark bready notes and touch of roast before the semi-dry finish. Nice. Found this again so maybe it’s a regular seasonal. It was again very nice and poured even better.
