Wagner Bräu Festbier
Brewery: Wagner Bräu
Town: Oberhaid
Style: Festbier
Color: in Krug so no visuals, looks dark amber
Head: off-white, thinning
Nose: faint malt
Body: medium
Palate: malty, underlying hops
Finish: semi-dry, fairly clean
Served: on tap at the brewery‘s Hannla Keller
Impression: An odd choice to have it at the Keller rather than the pub but I guess at that time of year, it’s busier out there. It’s an amped up version of the Kellerbier with a somewhat maltier palate and less dryness in the finish. It’s certainly not bad but it didn’t seem to bring a lot more to the table flavor-wise. I thought both the Kellerbier and Lagerbier were better.
