Impression: I’d been to the brewpub for the first time only a week prior but it was a very short stop and had only one beer, only to find the gravity version of the Hausbier was tapped in the Biergarten after I’d been served mine from inside the pub via a regular tap. I knew I’d return but didn’t think it would be on this occasion as the pub is usually closed on Mondays and that was the timing of my being in the area. I was glad I checked about the seasonal beers and when I noticed the dates of their Kerwa, it turned out to be that Monday. This one came out looking just as good as their Hausbier. I will have to say the place really takes pride in their pours and glassware. It has a fine light amber hue and a gorgeous off-white rocky head that is creamy in the mouth. The nose is quite malty with just a hint of grain and the flavor follows suit. The butterscotch is integrated and I found the hops to be more pronounced than their Hausbier but it could have been the dispense method. I look forward to returning to try the Hausbier again, as well as their other seasonal beers.
