Döbler Pils
Brewery: Döbler
Town: Bad Windsheim
Style: Pils
Color: light golden
Head: white, bubbly, rocky
Nose: fair hop, faint grain
Body: light
Palate: dry, hoppy
Finish: clean, slightly bitter
Served: from a bottle at the brewery
Impression: This was very nicely served with a logo Pils glass and with the bottle so I could self pour it. I didn’t even has to ask, which is nice. It’s very much a classic German Pils and while not mind-blowing, it was better than the Helles to me and easy to drink at 4.9%. I imagine it would have been on tap before the Helles and relatively new for the brewery Hefeweizen came along. They’ve retooled the bottle to appeal to younger drinkers who perhaps are buying Becks.
