Döbler Altstadt Hell
Brewery: Döbler
Town: Bad Windsheim
Style: Helles
Color: pale yellow
Head: white, rocky
Nose: faint grain
Body: medium
Palate: dryish, some grain, semi-fruity
Finish: clean, semi-dry
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: This seemed to be their most popular beer and it looked refreshing so I gave it a try. It’s drier than most and more in the Franconian Helles vein than a classic Munich one, with a fruity element. At 4.8%, it is their weakest brew. I’d drink one after a hike but it wouldn’t be my first choice otherwise with options like their Kellerbier and Märzen.
