Impression: I was hoping for an interesting seasonal but wasn’t expecting a Maibock in June, that’s for sure. I guess that was one of the few pluses of COVID-19. At any rate, it’s a style I love but it’s tricky and can be cloying. This one looked great and was nicely served in a smaller portion, actually better for the style. The price was more than fair too. It was gorgeous to behold and was a perfect accompaniment to our desserts, with a faint apricot nose which came out in the flavor too. The finish was lingering, dry and slightly bitter. I’d go in May just to have it.
