Rittmayer Hausbier

Brewery: Rittmayer
Town: Hallerndorf

Style: Kellerbier
Color: in Krug so no visuals, looks amber
Head: white, thinning
Nose: slight grain
Body: medium
Palate: malty, slight grain, underlying hops
Finish: slightly bitter

Served: on tap at the Rittmayer Keller

Impression: Since we had a long day ahead of us, we ordered one Kellebier and one Hausbier at once with our meals. We decided to drink the Kellerbier first together and quite liked it. For whatever reason, I thought the Hausbier might be hoppier but was wrong. It was less tasty overall and also less complex. I thought they seemed like too similar beers to have on tap at one place and think having the Rauchbier (as they did on previous visits) would be a better option. All that said, it was a serviceable beer for the Bierkeller but if I were you and I only had one to drink, I’d opt for the Kellerbier.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
