Schwanen Bräu Weihnachtsbock
Brewery: Schwanenbräu
Town: Ebermannstadt
Style: Bock
Color: deep golden
Head: white, dissipating
Nose: malty
Body: medium
Palate: rich malt, fruity, some underlying bitterness
Finish: somewhat dry, slightly bitter, unsure
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: This was the most disappointing beer of the day. First off, though it was the seasonal, it wasn’t on tap. I did get to pour the bottle and the head disappeared pretty quickly, never a good sign. It wasn’t unpleasant with rich malt and some fruitiness but the finish kind of fizzled out, much like the head and was anything but moreish. Hence my getting a Pils for my last beer.
