Pfister Bock
Brewery: Pfister
Town: Weigelshofen
Style: Hellerbock
Color: unfiltered golden
Head: white, thinning
Nose: malty, hint of hops
Body: soft, low carbonation
Palate: a malty flavor with enough hops for good balance
Finish: long, dry, somewhat bitter
Served: from a bottle at the brewery
Impression: I’m always disappointed when the brewery doesn’t have their Bock on tap but decided to have one with my dessert and was glad I did. It was a nicely balanced Bock with ample hopping and a long dry finish. It went well with the Pfannkuchen too. It was good enough to get a six to go the next day when we left.
