Impression: Greifenklau is often missed by those in Bamberg for a day or two. There are just too many breweries to hit in that short a stay but it’s a winner nonetheless and if in town longer or in summer on a nice day, it’s a must. This Lager in a Krug in their charming Biergarten is one good reason why. For those tired of things smoky, here’s a nice non-smoky session beer. It’s balanced and easy to drink but for those paying attention, it has some nice subtle malty qualities which come out with food and while staring up at the leafy trees above.
I was back recently and it was in a glass mug and a gorgeous deep golden. I noticed some flowery hops in the nose this time too but overall the same easy to drink 4.8% session beer.
