Eichhorn Schwarzer Adler Pils
Brewery: Brauerei Eichhorn
Town: Dörfleins
Style: Pils
Color: lightly filtered deep yellow
Head: rocky, white
Nose: faint grain
Body: medium
Palate: dry, fruity, some grain
Finish: clean, dryish
Served: from a bottle bought in the vicinity
Impression: I was impressed with my first visit to the brewery and when I saw some of their beers in a nearby shop, I bought a few bottles including this Pils as I didn’t have time to try it at the brewery. It poured a gorgeous deep yellow with massive head. It had a nice dry fruitiness and was quite balanced. There was some grain to both the nose and palate, and the finish was quite clean. I found it more in the Helles vein than a true Pils but that makes it a great session beer to me. I finally got to have it on tap at the brewery.
