Stöckel-Bräu Pils
Brewery: Stöckel-Bräu
Town: Hintergereuth
Style: Pils
Color: light golden
Head: fluffy, white
Nose: malty, hint of hops
Body: medium-bodied
Palate: malty, some flowery hops
Finish: dryish, bittersweet
Served: from a bottle at the brewery
Impression: This is an out of the way brewery I’d have never made it to if it weren’t for the Fränkisches Bierfest in Nürnberg. I was a bit letdown by their Landbier and remembered it being better than their Helles from the Fest so opted for the Pils, even though only available in bottles. It looked the part but was fuller-bodied than is typical for the style and maltier, as well. It did have a nice flowery hop element but felt it was atypical and perhaps more in the Kellerbier style.
