Klosterbrauerei Bonifatius Dunkel

dark beer in mug with big head
Klosterbrauerei Bonifatius Dunkel

Brewery: Klosterbrauerei Weissenhohe
Town:
Weissenohe
Style:
Dunkles
Color: ruddy brown

Head:
off white, rocky
Nose:
malty but a hint of chocolate
Body:
medium
Palate:
malty, some chocolate notes
Finish: clean, dryish

Served: on tap at the brewery

Impression: This is a beer I don’t get often enough. I tend to drink their flagship Altfränkisches Klosterbier, especially in summer. I also tend to be more rushed here than I’d like as they have a great line-up of beers and more on tap that the other breweries on the circuit. This is a great malty Dunkles with just enough chocolate to make in interesting and a nice clean, dryish finish. I hope to go in winter and pair this with a Schäuferla soon.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
