Held-Bräu Weizen
Brewery: Held-Brau
Town: Oberailsfeld
Style: Weizen
Color: golden honeycomb
Head: rocky, white
Nose: malty, some grain
Body: medium
Palate: malty, some grainy elements, not much yeast
Finish: clean
Served: from a bottle bought at the brewery
Impression: I quite liked their Weizenbock and rarely have enough time to try regular Weissbiers so bought one to bring home. It poured a lot clearer than is typical for the style and almost seemed like a cross between a Helles and Weissbier. It was very refreshing so I wouldn’t say it was a bad beer, not just what you’d expect from a Bavarian wheat beer, nor overly tasty. Glad I didn’t waste a beer on it at the brewery but glad I got one for home.
