Friedmann Landbier Hell
Brewery: Friedmann
Town: Gräfenberg
Style: Helles
Color: bright golden
Head: fluffy white, dissipating
Nose: slight malt
Body: medium
Palate: malty but dry, hoppy for style
Finish: clean, somewhat bitter
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: Friedmann’s was generally my least favorite beer on the route but I think it was my choice of beer, generally the somewhat bland Ritter Wirt Trunk (Dunkles). I’ve found I quite like their Pils and from old notes, it appears I actually liked this Helles better than the Dunkles too! I did retry it the last time through and though for me not as tasty as the Hofmann Helles, this one is still quite good and probably a better choice unless you are a diehard Dunkles fan.
