Brauerei Ott Obladara
Brewery: Ott
Town: Oberleinleiter
Style: Vollbier
Color: light chestnut
Head: off-white, rocky
Nose: malty, faint chocolate
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, some chocolate up front, fair hops towards the end
Finish: dry, bittersweet
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: Listed as Original on their menu and Obladara on their website but if doubt, ask for a Dunkles and you’re likely to get it. I wasn’t super impressed with this beer the first time I was here but high expectations and service very much in the weeds surely didn’t help. With Huppendorfer to the north and Aichinger to the south, Ott has some hard acts to follow. After an early Aichinger Spezialbier, this was my lunch beer. The second time, it was first up and I quite liked it. It was a lot drier than I had remembered and there was a nice chocolaty element up front. It went well with my meal and this time, the service was a lot better too.
