Neder Fassbier in Krug
Neder Fassbier in glass
Neder Fassbier in both Krug & glass
Brewery: Neder
Town: Forchheim
Style: Export
Color: golden
Head: white, frothy
Nose: slight grain and hop
Body: medium-bodied, low carbonation
Palate: dry fruity
Finish: long, dry and bitter
Served: from gravity dispense at the brewery
Impression: Listed only as Fassbier, this is Neder’s Export and is served in a ceramic mug so I had assumed it might be unfiltered. I asked for one in a glass to see and was surprised to find a bright golden and very much clear brew. This is a nice dry fruity beer with a long dry bitter finish and while interesting to see in a glass, it somehow seemed to taste better in the Krug.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
