Ulrich Martin Weizenbock
Brewery: Ulrich Martin
Town: Hausen (bei Schonungen)
Style: Weizenbock
Color: ruddy amber, frothy creamy head
Nose: yeast
Body: medium
Palate: malty, yeasty, brown banana, banana bread
Finish: clean for strength
Served: from a bottle at the brewery
Impression: I would have likely bought a bottle of this to bring home but since I more or less was going to miss my train, I decided to drink one at the brewery instead. I was pretty full but this Weizenbock hit the spot none-the-less. Though 7%, it didn’t seen so strong and though there was a rich burnt banana aspect, it wasn’t overly sweet either. In fact, it has one of the cleanest finishes in this style I’ve had.
