Lindenbräu Festbier
Brewery: Lindenbräu
Town: Gräfenberg
Style: Festbier
Color: deep amber
Head: white, rocky
Nose: rich malt, some grain
Body: medium, low carbonation
Palate: richly malty, fruity
Finish: dryish, clean
Served: from a bottle at the brewery
Impression: Lindenbräu is my favorite brewpub on this region. Their signature Vollbier a great session beer especially if you’re lucky enough to be there when it’s gravity dispensed. The Festbier is its richly malty big brother, with a similar balanced palate and slightly more kick at 5.4%. I was saddened to find it not on tap but it had just been released so maybe by mid-December it will be.
