Impression: The Biergarten was the plan but it looked like it might rain so sought refuge in the very atmospheric dark wood old pub, which fit this near stout-like brew well. Though I’ve had many Weiherer beers in bottles and have always thought them well-made, I wasn’t ever hard-pressed to come to the actual brewpub. Man, was I wrong. It’s a great place with a full line-up of winning beers. This one was gorgeous to behold and was an easy drinker due to its very low carbonation and soft mouthfeel. It was a lot lighter than it looked and the flavor was very smooth while remaining interesting. I would have loved to have another but with so many to try, that will have to wait to another visit!
