Griess Kellerbier
Brewery: Griess
Town: Geisfeld
Style: Kellerbier
Color: in krug so no visuals
Head: thinning
Nose: malty, slight hop
Body: medium-bodied, low carbonation
Palate: dry and fruity, nicely balanced
Finish: long dry bitter finish
Served: on gravity dispense in the Griesskeller
Impression: This has to be one of the best outdoor beer drinking experiences there is; the hilly well-treed Keller has atmospheric moss-laden covered seating areas near the half-timbered beer dispensary. Beer is gravity dispensed and about as perfect a Kellerbier as you’ll find. The low carbonation makes for a super quaffable brew.

I'm an American living in Munich. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also just published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria. View all posts by beerwanderers
